Hunter Johnson serves as Director of Technology and Media at River Road United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia, working behind the scenes to make sure every worship service and event runs without a hitch.

From sound and lighting to live streaming and media production, Hunter keeps the technology that powers River Road's worship experience humming smoothly. His work ensures that whether you are in the sanctuary, the Fellowship Hall, or joining us online, nothing gets in the way of the moment.

Hunter is a graduate of Virginia State University, where he earned a B.S. in History, and he brings a thoughtful, curious mind to everything he does. Outside of River Road, he is an active musician and music fanatic, so he understands firsthand what it takes to create an experience that truly connects with an audience.

His passions extend beyond the soundboard as well. Hunter is deeply committed to veganism and organizing benefit events for non-profits and charity, exploring sustainable and ethical food choices and raising money for important local causes (like RVA Community Fridges, a non-profit dedicated to keeping the city of Richmond fed through the use of their widespread public fridges supplying free food to those in need). It is that same intentionality, caring about the impact of his choices and the well-being of others, that he carries into his work at River Road every day.

When the mics are hot and the cameras are rolling, Hunter is the person making it all possible.
