Children’s Ministry Leader

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Status: Part-Time, Hourly

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Hours: 15-18 hours per week (in person), including Sundays and religious holidays; schedule

varies with church calendar

Position Purpose

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children’s Ministry Leader to inspire and nurture the

spiritual growth of children within our community. Your energetic leadership will help cultivate a

joyful, inclusive atmosphere where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to explore their

faith.

Key Responsibilities

● Organize a children’s Sunday school class (10am) and children’s church hour (9am - 11am),

along with special children’s events (Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, etc.) that align with

Christian teachings.

● Coordinate and oversee staff and volunteers for the nursery, children’s Sunday school,

children’s church hours, and special children’s events..

● Foster strong communication and relationships with parents and guardians in the church and

preschool.

● Perform all related administrative tasks (e.g., staff meetings, timekeeping, invoice approval).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

● Experience in children’s ministry and promoting the spiritual growth of children.

● Strong communication skills; highly organized and efficient, with high standards.

● Ability to recruit and supervise volunteers within the church family.

● Available to work in-person on Sundays and religious holidays.

● Competency in Google Workspace (e.g., docs, sheets, slides, forms).

● Ability to pass a reference check and periodic criminal history checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (in a related field).

● Experience in Christian church or nonprofit children’s ministry leadership.

Physical Requirements

● Lift, carry or move tables, chairs, supplies, decor, etc. in a children’s classroom or at children’s

events (e.g., Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Trunk-or-Treat).

● Lift or carry small children when necessary.

● Speak in public settings.

● Perform general office tasks relevant to the role.
