Lori Alford joined the staff at River Road United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia in November 2021, serving as the Minister of Discipleship and Engagement with a contagious enthusiasm for helping people grow in their faith.

Lori earned a B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams!) and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, a combination that equips her to think deeply about faith formation while staying grounded in the real lives of real people. She is passionate about creating meaningful pathways for connection and spiritual growth at River Road, whether through small groups, discipleship programs, or simply helping someone take their next step in faith.

A lifelong resident of Goochland County, Lori has two adult children and two grandchildren. She is a devoted VCU basketball fan, an aspiring foodie who loves discovering new flavors and restaurants, and a reader whose bookshelves reflect her theological curiosity. Her favorite book is The Prodigal God by Tim Keller, her favorite movie is Disney's Robin Hood (1973), and her favorite sandwich is a Rachel on grilled rye. If you know, you know.

Lori shows up for this congregation with her whole self, and River Road is better for it.
