Sybil Bowman – Office Administrator

Sybil Bowman serves as Office Administrator at River Road United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia, and is often one of the first friendly faces members and visitors encounter when they connect with the church.

Before joining River Road, Sybil attended Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to spend over two decades as an Executive Administrative Assistant to a Vice President at Philip Morris USA/Altria, building a career defined by professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. She brings all of that experience to her role here, supporting the staff and helping keep the day-to-day life of the church on track.

What Sybil loves most about River Road is the people and the mission. She is genuinely moved by the depth of the church's community involvement and the breadth of its mission work, and she finds it meaningful to play a part, however behind the scenes, in making that work possible.

Outside of the office, Sybil stays active through exercise and hot yoga, tends to her flower garden, and loves discovering new restaurants around Richmond. Her favorite escapes are the beach and the mountains, and her favorite company is her dog, Swan.
