Tom York – Director of Youth Discipleship

Tom York serves as Director of Youth Discipleship at River Road United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia, and his mission is straightforward: to create a space where young people feel genuinely welcome, can ask the big questions, and can build a lasting foundation of faith in Christ.

Tom brings a distinguished background to youth ministry. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he later earned an MBA from Duke University, and the discipline, leadership, and strategic thinking those experiences forged in him show up in how he leads and invests in River Road's youth. He approaches every student with both high expectations and genuine compassion, meeting them exactly where they are.

Tom is married with three children, and his own experience as a parent deepens his understanding of what families are navigating and what young people need most. If you have a student at River Road, they are in good hands with Tom.
