"Who do you say that I am?" It's a question Jesus keeps asking, at every crossroads of our lives. And the answer runs both ways: Christ is telling us who we are to him too.

"Do you want to be made well?" Jesus asks it of a man who had waited 38 years, and he asks it of us too, even when healing doesn't look the way we hoped it would.

"Am I my brother's keeper?" Cain already knew the answer. The question God asks still finds us today, calling us to widen the circle of who we are responsible for.

"What are you looking for?" It's a question we're rarely prepared to answer honestly. Jesus asks it anyway, and then simply says, "Come and see."

God's first question to humanity was not an accusation, it was an invitation: where are you? And in asking it, God was really saying, wherever you are, I am going with you.
