Who Do You Say That I Am?
At Caesarea Philippi, a crossroads of cultures and religions in the ancient world, Jesus asks his disciples a question that still cuts to the heart of faith today. In the fifth message of "The Questions God Asks Us," Pastor Bert Cloud explores the moment Peter answers, "You are the Christ," and traces how that same question, "Who do you say that I am?", followed him down a literal crossroads of his own during his years commuting through rural Virginia, wrestling with a call to ministry he tried hard to ignore.
With warmth and honesty, Pastor Bert reflects on what it means to answer that question not once, but again and again, at every fork in the road. And he reminds us that the question runs both ways: Christ is also telling us who we are to him, beloved and held, whatever crossroads we're standing at.
